“We need Storytelling. Otherwise, life just goes on and on like the number Pi.”
– Ang Lee

Where it all began?
When I was a kid, two things happened

Dad bought a camera, and recorded my entire childhood
Mom bought me children's books that still adorn my bookshelf
And thus began a peculiar habit of visualizing the world as stories
+
And then I went to college
Like in any coming-of-age movie, college meant opening up of a world that was always there but never explored. In my English Honours Majors Course, I kept taking additional media literacy courses and studied and explored films as mediums of storytelling. Exposure to Delhi as a city meant I could now access films across the world by relentlessly visiting film festivals; and I soon became incapable of having conversations without mentioning films. However, coming from a non-film background it seemed impossible for me to imagine a world wherein I could study and work around visual storytelling. That changed with my Masters. Thanks to the two scholarships that I was awarded to pursue my studies in London, I feel now exposed to a world where visual storytelling and curation is not just real it is doable. Despite only having moved to London for a few months, the avenues of films, visual media and curation that have opened within and outside the my classroom, is transforming me in the most beautiful ways.

We live in a world saturated by visuals. When too many colours dominate my screen, I like to go back to my birthplace: Assam. Even if just through the screen, pictures of Assam and home that I took through the years always bring back the calm in me, and these are visuals that only refill my soul with some hope. Sharing these with you as well:)
